the blog experiment

…what /is/ this blog about?

Canadians

June19

According to AFP, the oldest news agency in the world, Canada is officially dumb.

…and I quote: “A Canadian court has lifted a 12-year-old girl’s grounding, overturning her father’s punishment for disobeying his orders to stay off the Internet…”

How can this even be true?  I’d be like, “Ok, let’s go home.”

“Now go to your room.”

Hyperthymestic Prosopagnosia

June4

Some interesting mental craziness I’ve run across recently…

Back in their single days…

May9

A couple of my friends (who’ll remain nameless) recorded this one-hit wonder back in their “single and fed up with women” days. Hope you all enjoy!

Oh… feel free to leave your guesses (if you don’t know–if you do, don’t spoil the fun for everyone else!)

Creepy Robot Dog

I’m not sure why, but this video gave me the creeps.

Duty Calls

March11

I’d like to send a shout out to Jason for this one…

Duty Calls

Acreage

November1

I would like to thank Jim for yet another reason why I need a house with acreage.

maps.live.com and abaca.com

October16

Ran into two interesting technologies today.

abaca.com has a new idea to handle spam. No blacklists, no complex rule setting. Just install and leave it alone. 1/1000 spam messages get through, 1/20000 valid messages get blocked. Read the white paper…it’s also worth it.

maps.live.com is releasing some interesting new views. If you’ve got a really fast internet connection, go there and check out “Bird’s Eye” with “3d”. If you’ve got a not-so-fast connection, check out this video.

Is this for real?

According to the text provided with this clip, this is a South Korean stadium…and they’re using their clothes. (Mute the audio to optimize enjoyment.)
